The number of illegal immigrants deported from the United States has doubled in the last decade, to almost 400,000 in fiscal 2012.
Another fact is that 1 of 5 deportees had a children who were born in the United States according to Immigration and customs Enforcement.
Legally, any child born in the U.S. is an American citizen. It just isn’t right to deport immigrant parents who have children who were born in America.
I believe they should simply be given an opportunity to get even with the law, which doesn’t exist at the moment.
The only options they have is to either go back home with their kids (and keep in mind that sometimes they have been in the U.S. for over 10 years) who are American citizen by birth right, or the parents have to agree to be deported, and leave their kids behind. Let’s be honest here, we already know that these two options are not much of a choice. To realize that, simply put yourself in their shoes. No parent, with common sense will ever agree to leave their kids behind.
The reality is that these are U.S. citizen children, and just like any other child in the world, they didn’t ask to be born. It is there birth right to stay in the Country. If you deport their parents, not only you are destroying the life of that young child, but there is going to be a huge social cost to that deportation that tax payers have to pick up.
Of course you might think, that some people will take advantage of that. Come to America, have a kid and use them as an “anchor” to stay in the Country legally. But keep in mind, this is a nation of immigrants! We all, somewhere, somehow have an ancestor who came here as an immigrant. So unless you are a native american, you should start packing also.
I believe that people need to be given a common sense opportunity to get right with the law. A choice that doesn’t involve breaking the families apart, and a fair option that gets the parents out of the dark. By that I mean a pathway to citizenship that gets them into the system, where they will obviously pay a fee, get to the back of line, pay their taxes like everyone else, and get an opportunity to become true citizen.
No one can deny that this will very much boost the economy of the Country.

Citizenship is not an extreme position. Giving undocumented immigrants permanent legal status without the possibility of citizenship, would create an entire second class of Americans; Ones who can never vote, can never run for office, and can never be full and equal members of society. That’s just not who we are as a nation.
It’s no surprise that the american people agree. A recent poll found that a full 72% of Americans support a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants.
When it comes down to it, Americans recognize citizenship is good for the country.
The facts are clear, the border is safer that ever, immigrants are a net positive for the economy and the american people strongly support giving a tough but fair path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants.
It’s time for congress to come together, and pass a commonsense immigration reform.
There is a lot of misinformation out there about the role that immigrants play in our country.
The fact is, that immigrants are net positive for the U.S. economy, paying more to the system than they take out. Legalizing the undocumented through the immigrantion reform, would mean that these workers will earn more money, and they’ll have more money to spend on the economy. This will boost
demand for goods and services helping businesses grow.
Some say immigrants use too many public programs that will offset the economic benefits of immigration reform but let’s look at the facts; New immigrants utilize fewer programs like social security and welfare than the native born.
The simple fact is, that immigrants are makers, not takers.
In the last few years, the U.S. have made incredible progress towards securing the US-Mexico border.
We now have more boots on the ground and more resources and technology to view and track unauthorized entries.
Over the past 4 years, the Obama administration has dedicated unprecedented resources to secure the border, taking important step to make interior and work side enforcement of the immigration law smarter and more effective. They have made historical investment in man power, technology and infrastructure to help secure the border.
Since the last time we debated immigration reform in 2007, the U.S. has continued to do border security.
In fact, the U.S. has now met or exceeded all of the border security standard written into the 2007 immigration reform bill.
There will always be more work to be done on border security, but the fact is that our border is now more secure than ever.

Zuckerberg reportedly has already poured millions into the advocacy group, which is likely to be a non-profit, and which Politico said would start with a focus on immigration reform.
